Edwin Rubis

Edwin Rubis is a plant prisoner serving a 40-year sentence in federal prison for a nonviolent plant crime. His release date is 2033.   While in prison, Edwin became a devoted Christian, completed a Master's degree in counseling, and is now working toward his Doctorate degree. He is also learning to become a writer. Above all of these accomplishments, Edwin also serves as a mentor to others. Even prison officials have noted and praised his rehabilitative efforts. 

Despite his incarceration, Edwin continues to champion the cause for reform, using his voice to shed light on the unjust consequences faced by non-violent cannabis offenders in the community. His story serves as a testament to the need for compassionate and fair legislation. From within prison walls, he shares knowledge, educates others, and remains a symbol of resilience, hope, and the ongoing fight for justice.
